What is a bronze valuruli?
A valuruli is a compact, shallow bronze vessel inspired by the traditional uruli. Its broad base and curved sides provide visibility while cooking a small quantity. It can suit tempering, gentle reduction, warming ghee, making a small sweet or preparing a modest portion, depending on its listed capacity.

Choose by usable capacity
A shallow vessel can look large while holding less than a deep pan. Compare the dimensions and capacity with the portion you normally prepare, leaving headroom for stirring. Check weight, base size, cooktop compatibility and how you will lift the vessel when hot.
Cooking and first use
The open shape helps moisture evaporate and spreads ingredients in a thin layer. Begin on low or medium heat and adjust gradually. Wash before first use with mild soap and a soft sponge, rinse and dry immediately. Follow the maker’s directions; if seasoning is required, use our brass and bronze seasoning guide.
Care and food choices
Avoid abrasive scrubbers and do not leave water or food sitting in the vessel. Bronze naturally develops colour changes. For tomato, tamarind, lemon and other acidic ingredients, follow product guidance and avoid prolonged cooking or storage unless specifically recommended. Use a dry, heat-safe holder because the metal can become hot throughout.
Buyer checklist
Confirm dimensions, usable capacity, weight and care instructions. Think about portion size and storage space rather than choosing from appearance alone. Traditional cookware responds best to controlled heat, prompt cleaning and complete drying.
